Top 5 National Pizza Restaurant Chains
America loves it’s pizza, we love it so much that as a country we eat 251,770,000 pounds every year. Its that perfect combination of cheese, sauce, toppings and crust that make a pizza delicious. But who makes the best pizza? Here we will count down America’s top pizza chains.
#5 Little Caesars
Founded in the Detroit suburbs in 1959, Little Caesars is known for its hand made pizza dough and its mascot with the catch phrase “Pizza Pizza!”. Most fans of Little Caesars give compliments to its $5 for a large pepperoni or plain cheese pizza known as HOT N’ READY. Little Caesars newest idea of a crispy bacon wrapped deep dish pizza is both a blessing for your taste buds but a curse for your waistline and yet I still keep coming back.
#4 California Pizza Kitchen
Founded in 1985 at Beverly Hills, California Pizza Kitchen was made famous with its BBQ chicken pizza. With 200 stores in the US alone and selling frozen pizza on the shelves at your local grocery store, California Pizza Kitchen is becoming a fav amongst pizza fans. Now catering to gluten intolerance customer they sell their BBQ chicken and Margherita pizza frozen in stores and gluten free. They have more options in store with their gluten free pepperoni, mushroom and sausage pizza. Its also all about the taste. There is little difference in taste between the thin crust regular pizza and its gluten free counter part. But that is for you to decide.
#3 Papa Johns
Founded October 2 1984, Jeffersonville, Indiana, Papa Johns boasts number 3 in pizza delivery and carry out on our list but for the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) they can pride number 1 in customer satisfaction. There is some controversy over Papa John’s decision to change ingredients in their pizza, true they are removing artificial ingredients but customer worry about flavor and price changes in their famous pizza. These changes will be completed by the end of 2016 so its too soon to see the change is worth it.
#2 Dominos
Founded in 1960 Ypsilanti, Michigan, Domino’s has grown from a two man operation to a global franchise. Dominos is second on this this because the taste of their pizza is almost the best pizza I can depend on every time I order. Another fall back they have to my personal opinion is that they don’t make stuff crust pizza. Other then this, the cheese, sauce, and crust are perfectly proportioned and make a good meal and a good price. Just always make sure to check for coupons before ordering.
#1 Pizza Hut
Finally number one, Pizza Hut founded in June 1958 in Wichita, Kansas. Pizza Hut is the oldest franchise on this list and its obvious their years of experience is worth the pizza. A favorite of mine is their pepperoni stuff crust for $17.99 plus tax, without coupons, which is worth every penny. What I enjoy most about their pizza is their fluffy crust and mouthwatering cheese. Also Pizza Hut desserts such as their Hersey’s chocolate chip pie is nothing short of perfect.
